The Benedictine Community of New Norcia comprises a Catholic monastery, township and farm that are owned and operated by the monks of New Norcia. As one of the oldest townships in Western Australia, New Norcia is a heritage site with many historically significant buildings. It attracts approximately 70,000 visitors each year. The central focus of the township is the monastery, which continues to live out a spiritual tradition dating from the sixth century. Town activities include an education centre, a group accommodation centre, museum and art gallery, hotel, roadhouse and a number of support services.
Employees of New Norcia should demonstrate an appreciation of the nature of the township, including its religious and heritage focus, supporting its purpose and ethos in their day-to-day work and relationships.

The Benedictine Community is seeking keen and enthusiastic staff to join our Roadhouse team.

Roadhouse Manager
This position is a “hands on role” responsible for managing food production, fuel, post office and a small store. As manager you are an integral part of New Norcia operations and are responsible for all daily activities including staff management, work rosters, stock control and cash management. 

Casual Roadhouse Staff
Duties include front counter service, stocking of refrigerators etc and some basic cooking (hamburgers etc). Experience is desirable but not necessary as we are willing to train the right applicant.

Both positions entail some weekend and public holiday work.

Position: Senior Bar Supervisor

Nestled beneath gum trees on a rise overlooking Australia’s only monastic town…this is no ordinary pub. Still owned by the monks, the Hotel is a practical expression of their tradition of hospitality. The hotel caters for locals and tourists alike. 

This fulltime position would suit a person looking for an opportunity to advance in the Hospitality Industry.
